Biography
Wendy Arrowsmith (born in Glasgow) is a Scottish folk singer based in Yorkshire. Classically-trained, she now specializes in playing traditional folk music and her own folk-style songs, performing solo and in combination with other musicians.
Her projects have included One Stone with accomplished fiddler Rebekah Findlay and ceilidh/string band Blind Summat!, which consists of Paul Arrowsmith, on 5-string banjo and vocals, Joolz Cavell on percussion, guitar and vocals, and Rebekah Findlay on fiddle, guitar and vocals.
In addition to guitar and vocals, Arrowsmith plays whistles, bodhran, mandolin and accordion.
She has issued a series of albums in her own name, including Seeds Of Fools (August, 2009) and Now Then.
At least two of her original songs have won awards: "The Visitor" at Saltburn Folk Festival 2007, "Sleep Well 'Till Morning" at Scarborough Seafest 2008, and "Hearth Song" at Ryedale Folk Festival 2009. For further information, see her website: wendyarrowsmith.com
