"Bad Alive" is the fourth single by the Chinese boy group WayV. It was digitally released on July 29, 2020, by Label V and SM Entertainment. On July 24, WayV announced they would release an English version of the track "Bad Alive" from their first studio album Awaken the World as a digital single. Preceded by series of photos and video teasers, the song was released digitally on July 29 at 17:00 CST while the music video was released at midnight.
"Bad Alive", composed by American producer Mike Daley, is mainly composed of arpeggio and 808 drums, full of strong energy. Irregular trap drums and a siren sound overlay the dynamic bassline and melody, giving a sense of power. The domineering lyrics show a confident attitude.
The single ranked at number one on QQ Music's Daily Digital Sales chart and earned Gold certification within hours of its release. It peaked at number six on the platform's weekly chart.
The English version of the song retains some of the original Chinese lyrics and includes a few lines in Korean.
