Biography
In 2008 Rob and Marco decided to start a band with its goal to create something different, an alternative new wave band inspired by the famous 80s.
Arnold took place behind the drumkit in April 2008. The first practices began in the attic at Marco’s place, where the first songs were created .(Shadows of the past, Can you see? , the Answer) The journey of the ‘electric power trio’ had begun.
In 2009 Vandel got a practice room at the MFC Coevorden and after some extensive practice sessions Vandel did their first gig at the MFC Coevorden. Other gigs were played at Eureka Zwolle, Blanco Emmen and Trefpop Schuinesloot.
2012 saw the uprising for Vandel in songwriting and perfecting their sound. Songs as “Eyes wide shut” and “Far away” resulted in the recording of a new demo entitled “Existence”
Vandel combines the styles new wave and rock, creating a dark pleasant feeling such as the Cure, Joy division and the Sound. The lyrics reflect the lives we see around us with the gut feeling that something is terribly wrong in this world of deceit.
