Biography
From Midwestern landscapes of Michigan, and the vinyl collection of parents' basements, is Valentiger.
Valentiger leans on the time-tested melodies of bygone days, unearthing and reinventing the sounds of the 60s while drawing heavily from contemporary ideals and experiences. The energy of both old and new provides for albums that are rich in homespun warmth, as well as a live show that moves effortlessly from airy rock and roll, to harmony rich folk-rock, to subdued alt-country.
Valentiger has developed into a completely independent and grass-roots community, staying true to their musicality while releasing two albums, booking ten tours spanning twenty-five states and two provinces, and playing with acts such as Ben Kweller, Steel Train, The Format, The Whigs, Collective Soul, Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s, and Limbeck. Valentiger's do-it-yourself approach gives their music a unique and refreshing feeling.
Clever song-writing fused with melody and emotion, the music is influenced by Neil Young, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Wilco, and many more. Their debut album, Power Lines to Electric Times, was released in February of 2009. Followed by their sophomore album Oh, to Know! in March of 2011
