Biography
Formed in early 2008 as a record only project, Vaive Atoish is a punk rock band from Punaluu on the island of Oahu, HI. Their influences are psychedelic rock bands of the late 1960s and the post hardcore movement of the mid-late 1990s. The band is highly influenced by Japanese rock groups such as Boris and Teengenerate. Their music has elements of grunge, punk, shoegaze, hardcore, and alternative. The band later played a handful of live shows with a rotating cast of stage musicians.
Vaive Atoish released their debut album Jonah vs. Ahab in 2008. The album is a concept record about a conversation between Jonah (Bibical character from the Bible story, Jonah and the Whale) and Captain Ahab (Moby Dick) on religion. The album was originally released on tape.

Vaive Atoish releaased a single Cut from the Vine (2009) via their myspace page. In the Summer of 2010 the band release a 4 song ep entitled Medium Husky featuring thrashier punk rock material.

In September 2010 the band recorded 4 more songs for a yet to be titled ep, set to be released sometime in the Summer of 2011.
