UKR.TELE.KOM: A TRANS.MUTATION
by Sergei Klein & Andrei Sechkovski
the moment any sound travels from origin a to destination be through a focal point m(edia), such transition is ukr.tele.kom.
its sound's incosistent and unconscious nature is a reflection of weltanschung of those involved.
ukr.tele.kom is always about trans. trans-anything. trans-lation. trans-mission. trans-literation. its function is not so much the production of sound, but trans-action, trans-gression, trans-ition thereof. sound travels, mutating - just as a traveler is subtly or thoroughly transformed by the journey.
it is an on-going search of kom.mon ground, kom.munion, kom.patibility, kom.bustion and musical kom.munism.
ukr.tele.kom is mercurial in both the literary and the mythological sense. and as such, it is a messenger, a deliverer, a thief, always slipping away, avoiding precise definitions.
the title itself was expropriated from the major telephone connection provider in ukr.aine.
ukr.tele.kom is a prodigal sound escaping like echo, always returning to source - a trans-migration. it resides in transylvania - trans-parent, trans-luscent, no man's: a nomad, a nobody nowhere. trans-cendence. a trans-it.
ukr.tele.kom redefines the commonly accepted notion of what a group is. In fact, ukr.tele.kom is broader than a group – it is a movement of people, ideas and minds.
it is always about trans. trans(ce) anything. trans-sonic. trans-ient.
the term transmutation dates back to the search for the philosopher's stone. in alchemy, it was believed that the transformation of base metals into gold could be accomplished in table-top experiments.
trans-planted. trans-fered. a trans-mutation.
