The use of sampling here is top notch (including even a sample from a Brazilian song, that composes my favorite section here), and the Jacob's Ladder quote at the middle is an absolutely genius take, no other thing would be so fitting and add so much to the song than this. And to finish, I would like to talk about the videoclip, that complements this song perfectly, being a minutely crafted masterpiece too, probably my favorite of all time. I just love so much the hyper realistic oppressive atmosphere of it, and how it conducts the song's message through a very simple but clever use of metaphors. And that ending... it genuinely gives me shivers until this day, it is the most powerful and impacting scene ever made in a videoclip. No doubt that it was made by Jonathan Glazer, the same genius that made the videoclip of Street Spirit (Fade Out) to Radiohead, that is another masterpiece too, I just love this man.

This is the best UNKLE song of all time, I know that Lonely Soul is a masterpiece too, but nothing comes closer to the majesty of this track. The composition resembles a little to Helpless Child from SWANS, both songs have a masterful progression, with an extremely gloomy and melancholic air at the beginning that leads to a hypnotic and cathartic explosion in the end, and both give me the same sense of annihilation and transcendence (both masterpieces). The poetic dark abstract lyrics gives even more profundity to the track, being a beautiful and uplifting message about self-acceptance, one of the most touching meanings that I ever seen in a song. Thom Yorke was more than a heavenly match for this, this song looks that was made for him to sing, and he just delivers his most intimate and emotional performance ever seen until this day, especially in the end, where he extend his last "away" to nearly 20 seconds, simply unbelievable, this man is an angel.

Interesting to note, VNV Nation also samples the same quote from Jacob's Ladder on their song "Forsaken." The most amazing thing about this is that album was also released in 1998. Great minds think alike. They saved the best for last. Mr. Yorke was giving us a brief example of what was to come as far as his more mainstream, well-known outfit was concerned.

Early example of Thom Yorke's interest in electronic music, which he'd later experiment with the likes of Kid A, The Eraser, etc.

When I was watching Jacob's Ladder (without knowing the lyric sample was taken from there), when the said lyric started , I was shocked and couldn't understand what's going on. I knew the lyric exactly, and hearing it there made me feel like I'm having some kind of dejavu. It was fucking wicked..

best vocal they could've used for this song, everything about it is pretty amazing, including that sample from Jacob's Ladder and the video.
