Biography
Formed in Brno, Czech Republic, in 2001, U-Musik (abbreviation of a german term Unterhaltungs Musik meaning "entertaining music") recorded 2 EP releases: Fairy play (2002) and Dancing About The Architecture (2004) . This rock-alternative-folk-soap-opera-voiceband mixed-up a sort of alternative, minimal and rock music that could be described sometimes as a sort of weird film music, let´s say…The band was formed by guitar player and (so-called singer) Tomáš Maňas & Marek "mp" Peniška on drums & other mates (Pavel Dorda on clarinet and Marek Vráblík or Lukáš Paleček on bass) from whom Petr "Duch" Duchalík (on keyboards) and Ondřej Kyas (on bass & roar) proved later to be the hard remaining core .) Among others, we tried to set into music some of the beautiful poetry by Jiří Orten, a Czech poet of jewish origin who died by accident during the 2ndWW.
This musical activity stopped 4 years later when the band split and each member started his own career, whatever musical or not.
