Tunog Kalye started out in 1995 as a radio show that showcased live performances from promising Pinoy bands. The show was then called ‘Live na Live’ and even before MTV Unplugged and way before acoustic artists/bands became popular, the show was already doing a stripped acoustic set-up for the show hence the name ‘Tunog Kalye’.
Tunog Kalye has been graced by some of the most popular names in the history of Pinoy Music. There’s DJ Alvaro who launched her very first single ‘Ang Tipo Kong Lalake’ on the show and there were also memorable performances from bands such as The Youth, Yano, Eraserheads, Rivermaya, The Introvoys, Grin Department, Razorback, and Wolfgang among others.
And after 14 years in the airwaves, the brainchild of ‘Sgt. Pepper’, 103.5 MAX FM’s head honcho is still going strong with the show being a stepping stone for talented artists and bands who wants to make a name for themselves in the industry.
With that in mind, 103.5 MAX FM is proud to launch the much anticipated 2nd Tunog Kalye Band Search. Eleven years after the 1st TK Band Search in 1997, the team behind Tunog Kalye feels that it is high time for an alternative launch pad for independent talented musicians. And with Tunog Kalye being on the airwaves for almost 14 years, what better way to celebrate its 14th anniversary than with a band search that will promote untapped Pinoy bands with great musical prowess.
