Biography
Trianam were formed in 2001 when Norbert & Chris joined forces to showcase their talent and passion for Irish music. Both were already accomplished musicians in their own right.
Norbert:
"I had been playing the flute since boyhood but it was whilst touring Ireland for the first time (1990) that I found the music direction I was searching for. The Celtic Irish sound really made a strong impression and soon after, I took up playing the traditional Irish whistle. So enchanted in Ireland's magical sounds had I become that I even washed my whistle in the holy well at the valley of Glendalough!"
Chris:
"As a guitarist, I started playing Irish music in high school. I have a keen interest in Celtic Mythology, History and Culture which led to a trip to Ireland in 1999. It was this journey that my dream was born to perform Irish music all over Europe. Also it was around this time that I began to write my own songs in the traditional Irish style."
They first performed as Trianam in Ireland in 2004, playing the length and breadth of the country. They have continued to return to Ireland regularly at the invite of fellow musicians and a very receptive Irish audience. Based in Salzburg,Trianam are constantly on the go - relentlessly touring Austria, Germany, Swizerland, Slovenia, Italy and of course Ireland.
In June 2005, Trianam recorded their first CD 'A short trip'. In the same year, they made a roadmovie of their tour of Ireland. A live album followed in 2007 "One 4 the road" - recorded live in an Irish pub. 2009 saw the release of the long awaited studio album 'Lines to Erin' a CD which included Trianam's self written tunes and songs. Their acclaimed song and crowd favourite "Back to Ireland" is one of the many stand out tracks on the album.
Today Trianam's unique sound continues to win new audiences.
