Song about the inventor of the submarine John Holland. He was an Irishman who invented it in New York in order to fight the English. The English protested but the Americans did not stop him. Though his plan to fight the English with it was ultimately foiled, the US Navy named the Holland Tunnel & 1st submarine after him.
