The whole idea for 'The RIO Girls' originated after pulling a typical all nighter in Athens. 'Why not give it a try?' the friends and model sisters Bonnie Strange, Jackie Hide and Mary Brixton wondered.
It didn't take long for the girls to recognize that their spontaneous idea had the potential to become a lot more than they had ever expected.
After just a few days the video teaser of their debut single "NEONLIGHTS" had earned more than 100.000 clicks on youtube and many requests for live-performances followed.
"The combination of fashion and music has always fascinated us!". These girls dont only draw their inspiration for their fancy self-made outfits from the 80's, the decade also defines their taste in music. pop icons including Madonna, Prince, INXS and Duran Duran, whose song 'rio' gave the band it's name.
"We wanna make people dance!" full of confidence the rio girls combine rocking synthsounds with popping melodies that you can trust will stick in your mind. "NEONLIGHTS" has illuminated the german music market and makes you hope that there is more to come!
