Biography
The New Conquistadors were a tribute band to the Stone Roses although covered other great bands in their later days. They were formed in Somerset 2004 when Simon Redgers(vocals), Neil Brunt(rythmn guitar), & Simon Derrick (lead guitar) got together for a jam in a pub skittle alley in Burnham on Sea. They were soon joined by James Elliot (Bass) amd Robin Cameron (Drums).
After many sessions in Somerset, Liverpool & Newcastle the band reached the pinacle of their short career when they played a ledgendary gig at the This is the One festival in Somerset.
Unfortunately, due to logistical problems the inital line-up was short lived and continued existence in the North-East of England. Andrew Slack breifly, and later, Graham Jennings, took over on vocals and Paul Hayes on Drums.
The band, at this point, were musically accellerating when Paul left the band and Simon was re-located to Austria.
James Elliot is now looking for another band and Graham Jennings is playing in a successful North-East based Ramones tribute band called the Rawmones.
