The Humanitarians are a 4 piece band hailing from Devon.
John plays guitar and sings while Rich plays guitar and trombone. Aaron plays bass and then there's Hayden, tub-thumping very loudly at the back.
Taking inspiration from artists such as The Beatles, Stones, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Howlin' Wolf, Bob Marley, The Who, Bowie, The Jam, Black Keys, The Specials,Nirvana,Neil Young,Leadbelly,The Clash, The White Stripes, Oasis, The Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd and many more besides.
Rock, new wave, Ska,reggae, indie all goes into the mix and the only rules are to just play every note like you mean it and believe in what you sing - simple.
Where are the bands who give a shit these days anyway?
The band has two albums in the bag to date; the 2009 debut “Born” including the single 'The End of the world on TV', which is still available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc.
The 2012 follow up album “No Law” is available to download right now from all the usual places and includes the song "Call The Police” which won best EP at the 2012 South West Music Awards.
2013 the band released a CD EP of 4 tracks from "No Law" and also contributed a cover of The Beat's “Sugar & Stress” to the Specialized 2: Beat Teenage Cancer project, which you can also download from all the usual places or still buy on CD.
In 2014 we contributed to the Specialized 3: Mad not cancer project with our take on "Grey Day".
The band has reformed and are gigging again. They just played Molloys which is the regular hometown gig and the place was literally bouncing. A “live” act not to be missed!
