The Hobbit Shire was a Russian folk rock/soft rock band. It was founded in 1998 by vocalist Elena Shirokova and guitarist Maksim Samoylov and disbanded in late 2000s. Their lyrics were based on fantasy, usually on J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-Earth, often in a humorous way. The band is probably best known for its comedy song "How the hobbit sought his socks".
