The Gathering of Doomed was formed in spring 2006.The musicians’ incentive wasn’t playing the music, as it often is, their stimulus was ideas realization.
The main theme for The G.O.D. was and remains a man. Human soul’s discrepancy reveals a lot of problems .For example love for life inside many of us mixes with desire for distraction, and strict moral principles often help to justify evil…So the bands’ conception was identified and a search of a suitable realization form began. For the first year and a half the musicians didn’t concertize, but went deep into music experimentations, trying to find a necessary sound. During that time the band members and the music style had changed. First it was decided to play classical death-doom in My Dying Bride, Draconian, early Tiamat and Anathema manner. However, after some time, it became clear, that the genre bounds were getting tight and should be widen.
From the moment of “Follow the Snakes” (debut album, 2009) record, the band’s creation is an avant-garde gothic-metal. A peculiarity of The Gathering of Doomed is a combination of melancholic acoustic
parts and atmospheric, but aggressive guitar riffs. Complicated songs’ structure helps people to feel emotional contrast and to be inspired with music atmosphere.
At the moment The Gathering of Doomed are working hard with a new album “Humankind», you can hear several its’ songs on the concerts.
