Biography
The Future Tards of Jazz is a loosely organized confederation of retired and nearly retired session musicians rehearsing and recording in Jacksonville, Florida. For this reason, the lineup is in a constant state of flux. The band leader and composer is John Crowell, a former industrial designer from Lake Charles, Louisiana. The ensemble became operational in Savannah, Georgia in 1999 and was originally an octet of mostly electronic instruments. Since 2001, the lineup has more than tripled, replacing the electronic instruments with acoustic instruments and adding a big brass section.
