The Fatales are a five-piece originally from Washington D.C. Its members currently split time between Blacksburg, VA, Washington, D.C., and Brooklyn, NY. The Fatales deliver infectious guitar-and-synth driven rock, breathing with sexy atmospherics, electronics, and Britpop sensibilities.
In August 2003, The Fatales produced a 7-track EP titled Pretty in Pixels. The EP was recorded and mixed at Headgear Production and Recording Studios (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, T.V. on the Radio, Jay Farrar) in Brooklyn, NY by Dan Long (Say Hi to Your Mom) and mastered at West West Side Music by the great Alan Douches.
The self-produced and self-released EP has been well received by independent press and radio, having seen significant airplay on 3wk.com and numerous east coast college radio stations.
Since their formation in Spring 2002, The Fatales' credits have quickly grown to include invitations to perform at the 2003 and 2004 CMJ Music Marathons as well as performances in the 2003 and 2004 Fort Reno Benefit Concert series in Washington, D.C. Artists they have shared the stage with include The Album Leaf, Canyon, The Carlsonics, The Dresden Dolls, Gregor Samsa, Lake Trout, Robert Schneider of Apples in Stereo, Sea Ray, Starlight Mints, and The Washington Social Club.
