Polarity is the debut album from Canada's The Evidence, an uptight-nerd-punk-rock outfit. The album was released in Canada on Meter Records in May of 2009.
The Meter Records one-sheet for Polarity reads as follows:
Unabashed members of the obscuro-geek-punk elite, The Evidence delivers the debut album promised at their inception: Polarity – a concise contemplation of our age’s highs and lows that thrashes, pummels, and slices it’s way into the core of the conscious. The Evidence’s sound has been described as precision-punk, progressive-post-punk, and even gentleman’s metal - and though there’s a common thread making them at home on stage with hardcore and indie-pop bands alike, The Evidence can’t really help but stick out - for better or worse.
Fans of the timeless elements of Queen and Rush will notice nods to these influences while also drawing parallels to the likes of Coheed and Cambria, Circa Survive, Bad Religion, Tool, Brand New, and even AFI.
Polarity's track list includes:
1. What You See
2. The Oath
3. Scales
4. New June
5. Tremolo
6. A Christmas Truce
7. The Tilt
8. Belonging Kind
9. Excuse Me
10. Proserpina
The album was recorded in Calgary, Alberta at Echo Base studios and produced by The Evidence.
