It all began with Josh and Andy playing a few simple songs in a garage. The two had been in several unsuccessful bands; they had seen band after band fail, and were determined to make certain that this one would not. Sean's history has remained somewhat of a mystery, which makes him all the more…. mysterious. The band officially met in their second period PE class. The three of them have extremely different backgrounds: musically, socially, and personality-wise. Some days this is for the best, other days, it gets them bent out of shape.

There appears to be more than one "the eclectics". The Eclectics in San Diego, CA, are a progressive funk indie pop dance hard rock quartet started in 2006.
