"Other Voices" is the seventh studio album by American rock band the Doors, released by Elektra Records in October 1971. It was the first album recorded and released following the death of lead singer Jim Morrison in July of that year. Keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger took over lead vocal duties. Work on the album had begun before Morrison's departure to Paris, where he later died, with the band initially anticipating his return to complete the recordings.
In the wake of Morrison’s death and the critical and commercial success of their previous album "L.A. Woman," the remaining members—Manzarek, Krieger, and drummer John Densmore—chose to continue as a trio. They recorded "Other Voices" during a period of uncertainty, influenced by the sudden loss of their frontman and encouraged by Elektra Records to proceed with new material.
The album received mixed reviews upon release. Critics offered varied assessments, with Robert Christgau rating it a C+ in "Christgau's Record Guide," Classic Rock giving it 4 out of 10, and Sputnikmusic assigning a score of 2.5 out of 5. AllMusic, PopMatters, and Record Collector also reviewed the
