Biography
Sx1nxwy (pronounced as "Sinvi") is an experi-mental electronic music artist from Ukraine produced by Serhii, a teenager from the Volyn region. Born in 2008, he began releasing music in 2021 and formed a signature style blending phonk, EDM, breakcore, ambient, chiptune, and future house. The name does not have a literal meaning — the letter "x" is not pronounced, and "1" is used instead of the letter "i".
Essentially, Sx1nxwy is a counter-culture movement against the dominance of low-effort, formulaic music in popular culture. His goal is to make heavy, emotive, and genre-bending sound mainstream and even viable — to prove that complexity and experimentation can be popularly loved as much as it is complex.
Each release is built out of inspiration, shaped by an underlying idea, and imbued with emotion. His songs reflect loneliness, tension, hope, confusion, and defiance — often created at times of extreme personal crisis. Not a Bad Start, a mini-album, and Wistful Wishes, a single, were taped close to his 16th birthday and address the issues of nostalgia and self-examination. What a Hell Are You Thinking, an album, chronicles the chaos after a love affair has failed.
Some of his prominent works include Scared Nowhere, Urmanion, No.Rest/for\\\\the=dead, and Show Me The Will — the last of which came as a shock to fans in spite of being penned as a joke, proving the unpredictability of public opinion.
Sx1nxwy is a self-taught producer who taught himself everything by trial and error. There have been burnouts and breakdowns, but he persisted because of his listeners — even just one. It's not a career choice for him, but a way of remaining alive as an artist and emotionally.
Other artists such as DVRST, Geoxor, Exyl, Hiérophante, and SVRGE influence him, but his philosophy and style are distinctive.
Aside from music, his interests include video editing, game development, virtual reality media, and design. His favorite games are Dying Light 2, BONELAB, Assetto Corsa, Call of Duty: MW2 & MW3, Minecraft, Half-Life: Alyx, and SpaceEngine — all of which assist him in his atmosphere and world-building skills.
He claims himself as an introvert and isolated from the majority of scenes, typically the outsider. However, he refers to this isolation as a strength — an excuse to construct his own space instead of accommodating other individuals.
Sx1nxwy aspires to become known all around the world, collaborating with large artists like DVRST or The Weeknd, traveling the globe, and creating his own merchandise — from t-shirts to vinyls. He also aspires to bring his project to films, games, and beyond.
"Fame is like a drug. Once you've had a taste of it, you'll want it again. But I do not lose myself. I just want to be able to do what I love. And I hope one day, it'll all be worth it."
