Biography
Structural Interference was started in the winter of 2000 by Jeff Harness. The style at the time was distorted, dance oriented Electro-Industrial - sample heavy, and most of the time not serious by any means. This was the first stab at music for the founding member. In late 2002 thru early 2004 Structural Interference was thrown to the back-burner to pursue a similar musical project with Gale Force in Protocol X. The project saw a member swap and a few finished tracks in that time period. In early 2004 Harness left Protocol X for personal reasons. By mid 2004 Harness was already hard at work on new Structural Interference material. It was different this time, however. It was more serious. It had meaning and feeling. After a few times in the studio with Harness band members, Johnnie Smith, and Mike Edwards were added to the roster. In early 2007 after looking at all the material the band had they knew it needed a polish. So throughout the next 11 months 13 tracks of STATIC were redone some from the ground up. Now fast forward to December of 2007 SI is starting the mastering process. STATIC will be a first half of 2008 release pending a partnership with a label. Spring of 2008 almost brings an end to SI. A lack of response to the 2008 six track demo by labels disheartens the group. However, thanks to the interest by local guitarist Mike Sellers and WIB frontman Jonathan Burkholder things started rolling again. With the adding of Mike's musical expertise the drive to create overtook. Thanks to his enthusiasm and the push by others for a live performance things began to evolve quickly. By June of 2008 the band had aqquired all it needed for a live performance. All that remains before the first show is rehersal and integration of the guitar element. After a brief appearance by the bands former programmer Johnnie Smith on live keys (who bowed out for personal reasons), Mike Edwards rejoined SI. He retakes the position of programming and live keys. After only two shows live the response has been amazing.
