Biography
Formed in early 2009 from the ashes of the Dead Certs, Cursed Diamond and Diego Snail, Striptix first took to the road with high energy in June 2009. Following support slots with such well known acts as the Paddingtons, Domino Bones(Bez from the Happy Mondays) and Backhanded Compliments the band have quickly built up a dedicated following, aided in part with rave reviews of their high energy live performances. Fast paced indie pop songs and catchy sing a long lyrics are delivered with charm, wit and flamboyancy often beyond belief, by high octane front man Craig Swallow. Described as having "a cheeky Arctic Monkeys Northern barrow boy feel, all Libertines guitars and a feeling of rough edged bonhomie", Striptix have been referred to as "the Kooks if they had television style personalities". The band have recently finished work on their debut EP with renowned producer Whiskas (Forward Russia, Duels, Mi Mye). Striptix are now in the final stages of writing their debut album which they hope to record in the autumn. Striptix have enjoyed a very fast start to their short life, and show no signs of slowing down.
