Massively underrated gem of a band

Absolutely nothing like it anywhere. The closest thing Is maybe Massive Attack, but that's less "It's 1999 and I'm in a pagan bookstore and the girl at the register with dreadlocks keeps flirting with me by reading my palm"

When you try and type "Splashdown," does it always come up as "Splashdwon?" Does for me. Damn muscle memory...

Really underrated band. I think they had a very nice sound. I'm ashamed that I only found out about them back in 2007 when I re-watched an episode of Charmed and they played their song "A Charming Spell". I instantly fell in love with it and listened to the albums. They are definitely one of my favorite all time Alt. Rock bands from the 90s.

Will always be in my top five favorite artists! Such brilliant music.

love this pop rock....yes this is a hidden gem...most of the songs are good...

God I love these guys. One of the best sounds imaginable. If you don't listen to these guys, you're missing out on something seriously fucking amazing and beautiful :)

Great band. One of the Internet's hidden gems. Learned about them via Heavy.com (when it was independent and good, not like it is now) just at the time when they were trying to get Blueshift released, in the end unsuccessfully. This was also the time (1999-2000) when Napster was big, and they were getting just enough recognition to be the potential next big thing (had been on the Titan AE soundtrack and were rightfully talked about in the same breath as Sneaker Pimps, Portishead, Lamb, Moloko, etc but probably more "accessible" than any of those groups.) Anyway, I am the proud owner of an actual "official bootleg" copy of Blueshift that the band sent me as a thank-you for ordering all their other work off their website (except for Redshift, which I was able to purchase at a record store here in Winnipeg....try doing that now. No way!) Glad to see they have a new lease on life on iTunes, etc. It would be great to see them back on track, but alas the moment seems to have passed.

Oh, and there's a flac of Blueshift ... out there ... somewhere. I've never been able to find a working torrent of it, but it occasionally surfaces out of the ether and disappears again.

The original Blueshift CDs were mailed out "under the table" to Splashdown fan club members. I believe there were only ever about 100 of them to begin with, so they're very rare. Time was, you could supposedly find one on eBay now and again, but I've never seen it. (Not that I've put much effort into looking, though). Also, AFAIK, there is no official Blueshift album art. I hue-shifted the Redshift cover and U/Led it to last.fm, since that's what they did with Possibilities. I believe they did the same on iTunes. If any official album art exists, I'd be interested in seeing it.

And holy @#^% - *where* can I get this blueshift album officially? I've had it on mp3 for god knows how long now, I love it and i've always wanted a "proper" cd copy! Where, where, where?! :)

Holy @#^%. ... it's the Blueshift album. I *never* thought that album would officially see the light of day. It's been available, of course, but never in a totally legal/kosher fashion. It's probably the best album that never was :(.

I dunno about anyone else but this 'top listener' thing is really bugging me.... I mean I've listened to splashdown almost 10,000 times! and these top listeners have barely listened 500 times. That's just not right. :D

I've heard a few songs from this band, but I've never been able to hear their whole repertoire. Needless to say, I really love them!
