Biography
Son of Ran (born in the year of the Gorilla) is a world renowned emcee and one of the brightest stars on the horizon. Notorious for a phenomenal display of style, he has developed a fine-tuned balance of street science, intelligent soul, and social progression in his approach to hip hop. While the mass of emcees concede to the more popular genres of radio rap, gangster, or swagger music, Son of Ran exhibits discipline in its highest form and has always remained true to his self - never persuaded to adapt to current trends.
2006 paid witness to one of the freshest and most-talked street albums to date - SKY CITY CLASSIC, when Ran formed with a team of producers and created an unimaginable world that sparked movements of truth, love, and humility.
In the beginning of 2007, Son of Ran shook away from the music scene to return to his passion of teaching. Most importantly, he met his soul mate and immediately made plans to marry the love of his life. Yet, still feeling his music-mission in was incomplete, he would scour the landscape for a more particular challenge - to become the illest on the bricks.
This time, he would arrive full force with a strong multi-faceted army of support. On the cut-n-sew front, he secured sponsorships from the worlds freshest clothing companies (Orisue, Acrylick, Bloodbath Project, PnoyApparel, 9Five, PCKPR, OrangeKlass6 and Forecast.) And on the production, he would form alliance with the most talented / undiscovered gems that the West Coast had to offer - THE MESSANGERS.
Now, combined with the world infamous DJ Virus, StrongWill, and the genius mastery Mark the Martian and Jojo of the Messangers Crew, he has set out to explore the uncharted paths and untouched territory of every single soul who shows even the slightest interest in hip hop music.
