Biography
Sofia Insomnia comes to life in Caracas in the year 2004. Since then, this representative band, whose repertoire is completely original, reinvents the Venezuelan underground scene. They have participated in very important cultural and academic events and
have performed at musical events such as Caracas' First Underground Festival and the Urban Art Festival 2007 aside from private shows. Sofia Insomnia released a limited edition EP titled "Breve casi eterno" (Brief almost eternal). Kara Febles studied singing with Venezuelan jazz and bossa-nova singer Marisela Leal and with American lyric blues singer Janice Williams. She was also the lead singer of the gothic rock band "La sombra"(The Shadow). Moises Flores, poet and writer, was the lead guitar player and composer for bands like "Barbie en cautiverio" (Barbie in Captivity), "La amante de mi madre" (My Mother's Lover) and known 80's band "La casa roja" (The Red House). Omar Avila, artist that has participated in distinguished exhibits, was the bass player of the band "Terrenal"(Earthly) and "La sombra" Gregory Mercado, studied at the Music School Jose Angel LAmas and the Roland Learning center, was the drummer of the band "Profugos" (Runaways), "LA tribu" (The Tribe) and "El Trabuco Contrapunto"
