GO+ is SoFaygo’s tenth official EP, following up his November 2022 debut album, Pink Heartz.
Originally, it was supposed to be the deluxe version for Pink Heartz, when Faygo first teased about the deluxe’s existence on December 12, 2022, where he posted two Instagram stories with the caption: “+,” alongside sharing a couple of songs potentially to be on the deluxe.
On December 13, 2022, Faygo took to Twitter announcing that the deluxe would be releasing soon, under the name PLUS+:
"PLUS+ comin thruuu"
After had keeping quiet about the deluxe’s existence, on February 17, 2023, Faygo took to Instagram teasing the deluxe, with a caption stating:
"…👁💕 …➕"
On February 19, 2023, Cactus Jack owner Travis Scott announced during the Cactus Jack All Stars performance that he would be dropping his long-awaited album Utopia after all of his signees dropped a project, one of them being this project in which he teased, stating:
"We got Faygo ‘bout to put out a lil EP, that’s on the way"
Two days later, Faygo would confirm on Twitter that the deluxe version for Pink Heartz was scrapped in favor of the new EP releasing, stating:
"EP , not deluxe ❕➕"
The next day, Faygo released on his YouTube channel an official teaser trailer for the EP, while playing a track speculated to be on the EP.
On February 24, 2023, as a surprise, SoFaygo released two new singles exclusively to SoundCloud and YouTube: “EXTRA” and “4ALLMYDAWGS.” In an Instagram post, Faygo stated that these singles were teaser tracks to help promote the EP.
On March 28, 2023, SoFaygo’s manager Barry Hefner teased on Twitter to a fan that GO+ was in the mixing stages.
After keeping quiet about the EP’s existence for a bit, on April 14, 2023, SoFaygo announced that the EP is dropping in May via an Instagram post, stating:
"EP drop next month + 🏁💕📱👱🏻♀️"
On May 3, 2023, producers Bakkwoods and 2ytnb shared on Instagram stories the plus sign that was heavily promoted, hinting on the EP’s upcoming release.
The next day, SoFaygo would also confirm in an Instagram DM that the EP would be dropping in the second week of May, alongside with a couple of Instagram stories posted about the EP being on the way, and a tweet from Bakkwoods confirming the EP name.
On May 11, 2023, after not releasing music for nearly three months, SoFaygo released the EP’s lead single, “YE.” The song saw an official release on all platforms on May 17. Then on May 26, Faygo took to his secret Instagram account sharing three new snippets confirmed to be on the EP.
“WISH I COULD TELL YOU” would then serve to be the EP’s second single, released on June 2, 2023. The track featured DD Osama.
Following the release of “WISH I COULD TELL YOU,” Faygo would go on to debut a new hairstyle in an now-deleted Instagram story, as well as getting the plus sign tatted on his forehead in an Instagram post to help further promote the EP.
On June 9, 2023, GO+’s tracklist would leak in its entirety on Instagram. From what is known, the leaked tracklist sees twelve tracks in total, ten of which are new songs. Alongside DD Osama, Yung Kayo also serves as the EP’s sole feature..
After it was leaked to Instagram, that same day, both the tracklist and cover art were revealed officially, alongside a June 14 release date. An official trailer for the EP was released on June 12, two days before the official release.
