So.. who and what IS 'Simple Complexity' ?
Simple Complexity is the electronic brainchild of a boi who grew up listening to Skinny Puppy, Depeche Mode,Orb,Pet Shop Boys, and Nine Inch Nails to name a few.
'Razor' , Altered Super Ego is 28 and living in New Orleans, A Gemini who needed a creative outlet for expression of emotion as well as a way to pay homage to many of his favorite musicians and movies.He uses mainly Sony ACID Pro for much of the sound engineering. Some of his favorites are VNV Nation, Wolfsheim, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, KMFDM, Sisters of Mercy, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and KLF
'Kitten' is the other Altered Super Ego of Simple Complexity. 'She' is more influenced by the electro/slut techno styles and 'RAWR Girl' sound. She enjoys spinning artist like Peaches, Avenue D, Lords of Acid, Angelspit, Snake River Conspiracy, Hole, Goldfrapp as well as a more 'raver techno' feel. She shares Razor's passion for spinning the unspun heros of such groups. Her mix of rampant sexuality and avocations of sluttery add to any of her sets with a unique menagerie of shiny vinyl outfits mixed with hot dance beat.
Simple Complexity is just that. It is simply music, simply arranged to embody the complexity of human emotion and spirit through electronic music that is not contained in a set genre or type.
For techno lovers, the constant upbeat sound of the tracks will have glowsticks literally flying on the dance floor.
For industrial lovers, the dark, melodic undertones in many tracks will be very appealing
for simple appreciators of the expression of human form and emotion in musically represented form, the auditory sensation will thrill you.
Simple Complexity is exactly that. it is simple in construction, complex in meaning
based out of New Orleans, and not to be confused with a hip hop/rap group bearing the same, this Simple Complexity is an exotically goth/graver/groover who is steadily working on making a name for themselves.
The most recent stage set at the Endless Night 2009 Festival was a spectacular combination of dancing, swordplay, and DJng, the height of the set was the LIVE version of the Razor Cut mix of 'I wanna Closer Drug' * which was a real crowd pleaser.
Simple Complexity has their sights set on the bigger, and wider. They have goals of playing such events as Convergence, Goth Cruise, Bats Day at the Park, and of course, Endless Night again.
They also have an online SHOUTcast station, which includes LIVE, unrecorded and non-scripted, non playlisted shows.
