Biography
"The real fun lies in spotting bands on the brink of mainstream success…and there’s enough to catch the ear here …Silvermoths show promise, their angelic frontwoman given extra dimension by her multi-disciplinary band, including a classical Indian raga from cellist Rylan Holey."
- THE GUARDIAN
Silvermoths came together in 2009 in London, UK and following the release of their début single Superhero as well as their recent appearance at Standon Calling - their powerful, catchy and melodramatic folk-pop, with touches of classical music, is starting to grab the attention of critics and fans alike.
Classically trained multi-instrumentalist Emma Churchley leads the way with beautiful dreamy verses, soaring choruses and an assortment of quirky instruments. She is joined by her songwriting partner and guitarist Kaziu Gill, fellow classical musicians Kate Whitaker (percussion) and Rylan Holey (cello) as well as jazzer Stephen Maud on keys.
Together they enchant the listener with a magical live display of yarn spinning songwriting at its best.
