Biography
Les membres du groupe Shékélé proposent à leur façon leur vision personnelle d'une nouvelle musique en français cherchant tant bien que mal à illustrer les influences et aspirations de 5 individus. Depuis la version 2009 de Cegep en Spectacles, ils travaillent ardemment à la sortie d'un premier album à paraitre en 2011.
The five members of Shekele (pronounced Shay-kay-lay) first met at Cegep St-Laurent in Montreal in 2007. Through the following years, they collaborated together in various projects of different styles to a point where an affinity for a certain esthetic was eventually developped. The band shared their music for the first time in 2009 during the college contest Cegep en Spectacle.
The word Shekele is devoid of references and pejoratives. it is a word still awaiting its definition. To this day, the story is still there to be written, the process has begun and will soon appear on a first album throughout the year 2011.
