Biography
Shattered Red is a melodic hard rock band based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band formed in early 2003. In the short time they have been together, they have already played with such national acts as Damageplan, Kill Hannah, Crossfade, Cold, and Apartment 26.
In January 2003, Shattered Red entered the studio to record an EP entitled 'Walk Away.' It was produced by Mike Salvatori (Halo, Myth) at Post Effects Studios in Chicago, IL. After hitting #1 in Wisconsin on mp3.com's rock charts, the song ‘Fallen’ broke into the national top 100 (out of nearly 20,000 songs). Shortly after, '9x10,' hit the top 10 nationally on broadjam.com's rock charts for over a month.
The band relentlessly continues to tour and is hard at work branching out nationally. Recently, they were selected out of nearly 400 other acts to showcase at this years NACA convention in St. Paul, MN.
In early 2004, the band finished recording 3 new songs in Milwaukee, WI. They were mixed by Kevin Arndt and mastered by Grammy Award winning Trevor Sadler. Most recently, they played Milwaukee’s Summerfest on the main rock stage.
The band has steadily increased its fan base through consistent, excellent shows. A Shattered Red show is not only personal, but a connection between the musicians and the audience. Bassist Brad Steffek says it best: “Quite often, people come up to us after a show and mention we play like our lives depend on it. I tell them that considering we have to fill up the van to get home, our lives do depend on it.”
