Biography
Brutal, tortured, calm, soft and moving. These are the terms used to describe Shaïn's music. But from the studio to the stage, it is indeed an energical-metal-tainted rock that the four musicians of the band deliver to their audience.
Influenced by bands such as Skunk Anansie, Faith No More, At The Drive in, Red Hot Chili Peppers or Snot, to make a short list, Shaïn builds its identity around catchy guitar riffs, a survitamined slapping bass, boneshaking vocals and a powerful groovy battery.
Shaïn was created in 1999 by Patrick (guitar). The band finally found its way in 2002, with the departure of Olivier (guitar) and the arrival of Raphaël (vocals). The line up wich was then: Adrien (bass), Patrick (guitar), Sylvain (battery) and Raphaël (vocals); decides to record a 5 tracks demo titled "unknown" in january 2003 at the studio "Bush Cabanon".
In april 2003, after the departure of Sylvain, Rudy (drums) joins the band. From then, Shaïn makes numerous concerts in France and some foreign dates, notably the first parts of Superbutt, Aqme and TM Stevens. The band then works out its scenic presentation and earns quite a notoriety in their area…
In 2005, Shaïn records its first album. This eponym disc comes out with 11 scores in February 2006. Recorded and mixed at the "Rush Digital studio" and masterised at "L'autre Studio", the present formation, composed with Patrick, Raphaël, Rudy and Adrien, delivers then a CD at the same time darker and more eclectic than the former demo…
Armed with a powerful electrical set, and a accoustic set, the primary objectives of the band are the distribution of the album, and the defense of their music while playing in france or abroad, to acquire a real credibility and diffuse its music as broadly as possible.
