Biography
Santos Quijano (1807-1892) was a colombian organist, cellist and composer whose exact biographical data is not preserved. Given his outstanding technical level on the piano, he served as chapel master in a Bogotá cathedral where several of his works are preserved, he was also an active member of the Philharmonic society. A catalog of 9 works written by this composer was published by Ellie Anne Duque under the title of "Music in Colombian Periodical Publications of the 19th Century", and it has been the largest published catalog of works by the author to date.
