2012 – present (13 years)
As so many things in life, Slowbot started over a beer in a pub. After the split of their former band Off Noise during summer 2011, Tof (guitar) and Stef (drums) could just not give up on rock’n roll. They quickly contacted Gaetan, the lead singer of Otomano (heavy rock quatuor) and The Fair Conditioners (hard rock) which had just stopped after their lead guitarist JB had left for a one year trip to south america.
The new trio rapidly set up in Studio 440 (Montreuil) to rehearse and write their first songs together. At the same time, the band started auditioning bass players. Without much luck.
In summer 2012, JB finally returned to Paris, traded his guitar for a bass and ended up joining the band. The long quest for a bass player was over, Slowbot was born and it had only one thing on its mechanical mind : record an EP within a year.
Weeks after weeks, the band evolved from a fast paced hard rock influence to a slower, heavier stoner sound.
The recording session of Slowbot E.P. took place over a long week-end in summer 2013 in the countryside of France. Vocals were recorded in Paris in the following weeks.
After an epic mixing competition launched on Facebook, Jerome Richelme was declared the ultimate sound engineer and started mixing the E.P.
Slowbot is currently writing new material, striding at an inexorable slow and heavy pace towards a forthcoming second release.
