Biography
Rufus Spencer is a musical collective of Americana and popular music named after the singer/songwriter and lead singer - Rufus Ethan Spencer. Born in Sweden and raised in Denmark with an American heritage, he writes music ranging from fragile and stripped-down ballads to catchy guitar rock, drawing a line back to the early singer/songwriter tradition of the 60's and 70's. With brothers Lukas and Peter Leer, the band bring the flavor of newer styles to the music as they evolve the classic tales of love, loss, politics and tradition.
Since Rufus Spencer started their career in early 2009, they have received positive feedback from the audience and the music industry, resulting in concert opportunities both in Denmark and Europe including an unofficial gig at the SPOT Festival 2009 and gigs in Holland and Belgium.
In april 2010 they released their first recording, the EP Sit Down By The Fire and in 2011 they released their second EP Roots From The Crops of Earth.
