“Jigga My Nigga” is a prime example of the Roc-A-Fella Records/Ruff Ryders Entertainment musical chemistry. Backed by two female accomplices and a legendary Swizz Beatz production, Hov uses the opportunity to further muse on his hustler and rapper personae.
It was released as single from the Ruff Ryders compilation album Ryde or Die, Vol. 1 on May 28, 1999. It also appeared as a hidden track on Jay’s fourth studio album Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter. The track peaked at #28 on the Billboard “Hot 100” chart.
“Jigga My Nigga” interpolates “Just Me, Just You” by The Counts and “What’s My Name?” by Snoop Dogg. The beat was later remade for “Scenario 2000” by Eve and the Ruff Ryders.
Jadakiss has said that he wished he had been given this beat, and wondered why he wasn’t at least invited to jump on.
