Biography

Roci Hinosch alias Rico Honisch is one part of the music-combo Skies Unlimited.

His first contact with electronic musical instruments was in 1990. As a former citizen of the German Democratic Republic, he was able to afford a keyboard with the welcoming money that was provided to us by West Germany, until that point only known as the incarnation of our enemy. Shortly after, the AMIGA 500 and first attempts at using tracker programs followed. A downright race to gather equipment started from then on, all in the spirit of the analog revival. His comrade in arms (Christian Mathea) and he suddenly owned everything that was stylish (303, 606, 101, 808, Kawai K4, Roland Sampler, Akai Sampler, Korg Wavestation …). That was a good basis, one should think, but a great car doesn't automatically make you a superb race driver. After a few records and contributions to compilations (Pegasuz, Kosmophon) which were of little success and various live acts (e.g. "Live is Live" (Flugzeugwerft Dresden), Zepter (Dresden), Feuerwache (Kamenz) …) they decided to stop this madness. In 1999, they had sold their last synthesizer. Well, if you want to make music in the year 2003, you only need a computer, software (e.g. the freeware Buzz) and a bit of time. And it is simple to present music to a broad audience. Since he has never managed to see what's so great about fishing, music is the better alternative.

You can download a high quality mp3 of his track 'Back' at the Phonocake Netlabel or directly as mp3
