Biography
Howdy doody! My name is Ben Harris and i'm a denizen of the nice though rather sedate town of Tamworth, England. I'm a rather inept upstart of a 'musician' who specializes in a brand of sample plunder and 'found sound' modification/manipulation - past projects include Rude Form, SELFSURPRISE, Deliberate Flaws as well as some other less realized output. Rangers Not Trained By Elves Just Aren't The Same is a harsh ambient project that aims for an eclectic approach differing somewhat from the more primitive and lo-fi strategies that I've explored and just as quickly dismissed in the past.
This one has been heavily influenced by a myriad of unhealthy amalgamated obsessions including obscure dungeons and dragons monsters, conceptual and appropriation art (particularly Bedwyr William's 2012 exhibition My Bad at the IKON Gallery in Birmingham) and Daniel Farsson's book The Gilded Gutter Life of Francis Bacon. After spending far too much time trying to be all misanthropic and extreme like all my favorite power electronics acts I've have steadily reached the conclusion that I ought to stick with what i'm best at… Messing around with other peoples music!
I refuse to render this bio in third-person because that will only serve to make me come across as cuntish.
