When Ben Kweller was 12 years-old he formed the band Radish. Radish was a trio that included Kweller on guitar, John David Kent on Drums, and Ryan Green on bass. After the group played a few gigs around the Dallas area, Kweller, decided it was time to take the group into the studio. He tracked down a local recording engineer in Dallas, by the name of Martin Baird. Radish was a grunge / alternative rock band from Greenville, Texas. In 1993 Ben Kweller became friends with another young local musician, drummer John David Kent, and the two formed the band Radish with bassist Ryan Green. The trio played locally in and around Greenville and recorded two independent releases, Hello (1994) and Dizzy (1995), with Martin Baird at Verge Music Works recording studio in Dallas.
