“Headshot / Heads Off (Demo)” is an unreleased song from Atlanta rapper Playboi Carti that was recorded on February 3, 2020.
The song was first previewed and leaked on April 14, 2020. The song leaked just 2 days before single “@ MEH” released leading many to believe that
“Headshot” was expected to be on Playboi Carti’s upcoming sophomore album Whole Lotta Red. However, leakers confirmed this song wasn’t on the album and Whole Lotta Red released in December 2020 with no “Headshot” on the album.
In June 2021, producer Richie Souf teased the lyrics of the song on Twitter. During this time, both he and Carti were working with Kanye West on Donda. The song later appeared on a leaked Donda track list as “Heads Off”, however, leakers confirmed that Kanye never recorded a verse for the song.
On February 15, 2022, a new snippet for the song surfaced featuring a second verse from London rapper Lancey Foux. Lancey and Carti have been connected since 2019, however, this is their first collaboration to be teased to the public. This version of the song was recorded in early 2022 according to leakers, who sent the song to Lancey, pretending to be part of Carti’s management
