Biography
PL@yBoxX was created when Drew King said “Hey, I think I want to start DJing”. And as simple as that was to say, it was just as simple for him to spin at college clubs and parties at the University of Maine. The mission is to continue serving beats to everyone that wants to listen to them and have fun while doing it. Prior to taking up DJing, PL@yBoxX has a long list of past-times: hailing from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, King is a professional big wave surfer as well as a professional BMXer. He is currently ranked amongst Hawaii’s top 20 DJs according to Reverb Nation. All of this has been accomplished during his time as an undergrad at the University of Maine. Along with his studies, he has put on countless fundraisers in the form of outrageous parties for causes such as breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, and heart disease. In his most recent endeavor, he interned for KahBang Art and Music Festival, where he assisted in bringing Wiz Khalifa, Lupe Fiasco, Grace Potter, and more artists to Maine.
