Biography
Legend tells of a masked shadow in human form – a ghost, a phantom, a wraith, a pirate. Transient and ineffable, he came from the western sea to the shores of Spain nearly a thousand years ago. Whereever in Europe there was injustice, pain, or abuse of authority – when he was most desperately needed – there he would appear out of the shadows of the night in fiery vengeance. And when he was no longer needed he would disappear once again into thin air, leaving only a mound of ash in his wake. He has gone by many names throughout the centuries: El Fantasma de San Cristòbal, Der Baron von Schall, and as we know him today, The Phoenix McQueen. No one knows what he looks like nor how he came to be. All we know for sure is that he can play a mean tune.
The music of Phoenix McQueen cannot be fit into a genre. It has been described as melodic, atmospheric, even haunting. His songs range from shorter instrumentals to lengthy ballads, from subtle and gentle to heavily distorted and overdriven. Whatever your taste in music, there's something here for everyone.
