With this album and V, they seem to have made a bit of a shift that I don't care for. Reptile is awesome, but most of the rest I could take or leave. Maybe a little bit more deathcore-y or something. Which is fine, but that's not what I listen to this band for. If I want something really heavy, I have hundreds of other bands I'd pick first. I listen to periphery when I want sick bouncy riffs and catchy melodies, and the last 2 albums are missing a lot of that. You can get really heavy without sacrificing melody and catchiness. But on these last 2 albums, it seems like it's always one way or the other, aside from Reptile and Wax Wings.

Back in 2016 I discovered Periphery and TDEP at the same time, PIII was a miss for me compared to Dissociation, but now PIV is an AOTY nomination. This band is able to create some amazing songs.

Reptile is the third most listened song from this album. Blood Eagle 9,527, Garden in the bones 6,682, Reptile 3,100 as of 7th April 2019. If you actually count the effort and multiply Reptile numbers x3 (17 mins, while other songs have 6 mins), Reptile declassifies all other songs popularity wise. And I'm not even taking into consideration that Blood Eagle premiered around 6th February and Garden in the Bones - 1st March.
