Released March 12 of 2013, 'Paul and the Space Cadets' is a self-titled album of seven original alternative-folk-rock songs. Writing began before main members Gary Krueger and Paul Jackino met in Jamestown New York during the winter of 2008. During the spring of 2008, songs began to sonically manifest and the term "spontaneous synchronicity" was lightly suggested by Gary to be a name of the band. By ‘spontaneous synchronicity’ in regards to the songs of this album, it is refering to how most of these songs were made. Most of these songs were made via the synergy of both Gary and Paul naturally improvising in synchronization, over ideas. Essentially, these songs are Gary playing acoustic guitar and Paul singing, playing piano, synthesizers and percussion instruments. Rather than just premeditated thoughtfulness, much of this album was candidly invented via stream of consciousness. Many demo recording sessions happened in Gary's Jamestown, NY apartment above Germain and Pappalardo music shoppe during 2008. The recordings are a combination of live acoustic takes with multiple instruments in session and dubbed multi-tracking in post-production. Ultimately, the final product was produced at Gary's apartment in Jamestown, NY, Paul's apartment in Falconer, NY, in studio at Fredonia State University, and though Gary fled across the country to Phoenix Arizona in 2010, production continued until Paul also moved to Phoenix in 2012 and finished the album.
