Biography
Paul Eastham - Lead Vocals / Keyboards / Acoustic Guitar - Band Member of COAST
Paul was born in Stockport, England but has lived in many places across the UK and Europe including Blackpool, Stanton, Munchen Gladbach, North Uist Ballivanich, Swindon, Brunsum The Netherlands and Southampton.
His musical influences range from rockers Bruce Springsteen, Mark knopfler, Runrig and Big Country to classical geniuses such as Rachmaninov and Beethoven. Indeed, Paul himself is a classically trained pianist. Paul was partcularly influenced by the music he listened to as a child during the years he lived in the Western Isles of Scotland.
Paul has played in several other bands before COAST, namely Atlantis, Orpheus, Winter of Clowns, Noisy Toyz and Oran. Paul has also collaborated with other musicians such as Georgie Cullum and Slava Zenin. Paul produced and recorded on Duffy’s first commercial recording, the eponymously titled “Aimee Duffy EP”.
Paul used to be a keen amateur figure skater supports both Manchester United and Celtic football teams.
His favourite holiday destinations include North Uist, Cornwall and Center Parcs Longleat and other interests outside the band include human nature, science, religion, history, model railways, live steam, music, producing and recording studios.
In addition to writing, recording and performing with COAST, Paul has also recorded many solo tracks and his piano instrumental album “An Cuan Ciar” is available online.
