Biography
Patriarkus is a choir group deeply rooted in swedish folkmusic, historical music from medieval times to renaissance and traditional sing-and-songwriting. With their music they strive to offer an artistic- and vocal picknick designed to appeal to people of all ages, convictions and shoe-size. The idea is that both veterans and people who don't normally play- or listen to these kinds of music will find something to love in their work.
Patriarkus write a good part of their material themselves, and take strong influences from other groups in the genre (like "Sorkar & strängar", "Rävspel & kråksång", "Manowar" etc). They can usually be seen performing at various medieval fairs and events like Medeltidsveckan in Visby, Kungahälla Medeltidsdagar etc.
Patriarkus have released three CD's ("Kärlek, Stordåd & Pirater" 2007, "Patriarkuspassionen" 2010 and "Om Tuppen Gal" 2012). Patriarkus often work together with the traditional music group Musica Cultura.
