Ovum is a four piece instrumental post-rock band hailing from Tokyo, Japan. The band was formed in 2006 and consists of Norikazu Chiba (guitar, keyboards), Yosuke Jinnouchi (guitar), Shinichi Tahara (bass) and Yu Tokuda (drums).
They describe their music as “the pursuit of universal beauty such as the sweetest of melodies and harmony, which may sound classical”. On May 2007 they released their first EP titled "Under the Lost Sky" on Lost Records which featured only four songs and on April 2008 they released their first full-length titled "Microcosmos" on XTAL Records.
