Biography
With a unique mixture of blues, country, folk and downright ORIGINALITY, Outroads is one of the most uncaterogorized and truly expressive groups in the United Kingdom. Their raucous edge is offset against the sad soft tones of harmonica and violin; this could truly be twenty first century blues. Coming from Sheffield in the North of England, they have been described as bringing ‘the sound of the deep south from up north, combining the warm glow of bourbon with the sharp kick of tequila. Edgy and melodic, they define new retro.'
Founded by Geoff Walsh, an inspiring and creative songwriter, Outroads has played from intimate venues, to the grand scale of international music festivals in Chile, playing to an audience of thousands, and a TV audience of millions.
Their two current CD’s (”Goodbye To All That” and “Only The Lonely?”) represent some of the most touching and eclectic songwriting of modern music….with influences heading as far back as the mighty Robert Johnson to more modern artists, all almagated into seemingly simple music which hides it’s true depth.
