Biography
Orchid Flower is a pseudonym of U.S. singer Orchid Rashed (b. 19 Dec 1993). She is of Bangladeshi-Kashmiri descent and was raised in Queens, NY, USA. Although closely tied to her roots, she is not a traditionalist, with blonde hair, charisma and outspokenness. She started singing with a rock band, them changed focus toward R&B/pop.
She's not just an exotic flower, Orchid is ready to put her mark on the world. Goes by the alias Orchid Flower. With her divine, richly authentic voice, she delivers a powerful force behind each song.
Nonetheless, Orchid has other plans to take her music to the next level to create a brand in herself and reach an international audience. She is known for her popular dancehall/r&b singles "S.O.L.O" and "Hooked on You" ..which she wrote, recorded, mixed on her own one-bedroom apartment in Queens. She is also known for her popular YouTube cover, "Born To Die" by Lana Del Rey.
Further branching into the realm of electro-pop r&b, she is releasing her debut EP "Love Is Like A Drug" set to release digitally late 2013. She will also be producing the EP. She released the first single off the EP "Gypsy Dance" and will subsequently release more tracks.
